Jason is a lifelong resident of Essex County. He grew up in the Riverside area and attended FJ Brennan High School. Both of his parents are from Windsor and his father was a long time employee of Hiram Walker and Sons. Jason attended law school at the University of Windsor and graduated in 1984. During his undergraduate years and law school education, he received a number of awards and scholarships.
After articling for a well-known firm, Jason was invited back as an associate in the litigation department, where he gained exposure to a variety of areas of law. He soon developed an interest in family law and has restricted his practice to that area for over 20 years. Jason went out to form his own firm in 1994. After practicing in downtown Windsor, he moved his practice to the Walkerville area 16 years ago.
Jason has appeared in every level of Court in Ontario. His caseload includes appearances at both the trial and appellant levels. He has taught the Family Law section for the Law Society of Ontario for many years in both London and Windsor. He has appeared as a guest speaker at the Faculty of Law and as a speaker for the Ontario Bar Association. He has made submissions on family law reform to the Ontario Legislature. He is past president of the Essex County Family Law Lawyers’ Association.
In 2004, Jason was designated by the Law Society of Ontario as a Certified Specialist in Family Law. Outside the office, Jason is an enthusiastic golfer and member of Pointe West Golf Club. He is also regularly seen at club, high school and college basketball games where he is a referee. Jason has been married for 28 years and has two wonderful children who have left the nest and are seeking their fortunes in the GTA.
