Jason P. Howie Named to the Best Lawyers in Canada List for Family Law
Jason P. Howie has been named to the 2024 Best Lawyers in Canada list for Family Law and has been recognized by Best Lawyers since 2021. Jason P. Howie is a partner of Howie Johnson Barristers & Solicitors.
Jason attended law school at the University of Windsor. After articling for a well-known firm, Jason was invited back as an associate in the litigation department, where he gained exposure to various areas of law. He soon became interested in family law and has restricted his practice to that area for over 20 years. Jason went out to form his firm in 1994. After practicing in downtown Windsor, he moved his practice to the Walkerville area.
Jason has appeared in every level of Court in Ontario and has argued cases at both the trial and appellant levels. He has taught the Family Law section for the Law Society of Ontario for many years in London and Windsor. Jason has also appeared as a guest speaker at the Faculty of Law and as a speaker for the Ontario Bar Association. He has made submissions on family law reform to the Ontario Legislature and is past president of the Essex County Family Law Lawyers’ Association. Jason was designated by the Law Society of Ontario as a Certified Specialist in Family Law in 2004.
